You're a strong and experienced classroom teacher, no doubt. That's why you've been called on to lead your teaching peers in school projects and activities. With these growing responsibilities—working with your peers, helping them reach every student in their classrooms—you recognize the need for new knowledge and skills. The M.Ed. program in Instructional Leadership has been designed to meet the challenges of your emerging leadership role including:

• Increased competencies in instructional coaching and mentoring in order to work alongside other teachers as they learn new teaching approaches.
• Deeper understanding of the disciplinary content of the school curriculum.
• Knowledge of schools as places for adults to learn and of how to shape a vibrant professional learning community.
• Additional approaches to supporting teacher renewal and strengthening commitment to equitable teaching practices.
